HC Deb 21 October 1992 vol 212 cc321-2W
28. Mr. Watson

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he intends to take to assist young people in Glasgow which are unable to obtain a place on a youth training scheme.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The delivery of youth training in Glasgow is the responsibility of Scottish Enterprise and the Glasgow development agency, which have assured me that sufficient places are being made available to cater for those young people in Glasgow who wish to enter the programme. A financial safety net is in place, via the income support severe hardship provision, for those who need financial help while waiting for a start on a youth training place.
