To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will take steps to safeguard the funding of the West Midlands air ambulance service.

Air ambulance services are currently under evaluation and, until this has been completed, no investment is being made from central funds. In the meantime, it is for health authorities in West Midlands region, as purchasers, to decide whether to fund this service from their financial allocations.
