To asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the future of(a) Royal Air Force Bentwaters and (b) Royal Air Force Woodbridge, after the US Air Force leaves these bases in 1993.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has for the future use of the Bentwaters air base after the American departure in 1993.

It was announced locally on 21 August that the RAF had no future use for the twin US bases of RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge. Alternative defence uses are currently being examined. Should none be identified the bases will be declared surplus and disposed of following consultation with local authorities and other interested parties.
