To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many children in Wales qualified for free school meals, uniform or clothing grants and other means-tested educational benefits in 1990–91 and 1991–92; and if he will also provide these figures as a percentage of the total school roll.

The number of pupils who qualified for free school meals in 1990–91 and 1991–92 is as follows:
