To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the decision by the Kuwaiti Government to award their tank contract to a US supplier; and what estimate he has made of the consequences to Vickers.

My department has not received any official notification of a decision by the Government of Kuwait to buy M1A2 in preference to Challenger 2.
