HC Deb 19 October 1992 vol 212 c214W
Mr. Spearing

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will give the estimated cost at 1992 or other prices of the proposed Jubilee line extension, together with the amount of that sum falling on public expenditure or contributed from other sources under specific conditions, either in respect of an approved scheme, or one approximating most closely to the requirements of Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Norris

The current estimated cost of the Jubilee line extension in cash prices is £1,853 million, £1,415 million of this would fall on the public sector and £438 million on the private sector, based on the contributions originally promised. The particulars of those contributions are contained in the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Newcastle upon Tyne, Central (Mr. Cousins) on 23 June. to which I refer the hon. Member.
