HC Deb 19 October 1992 vol 212 c200W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the information available to him on the incidence and effect of high winds on the Dartford/Thurrock bridge.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

Since the Queen Elizabeth II bridge came into use in October 1991, it has only once been closed because of high winds. Speed restrictions and lane closures due to high winds have been imposed for a total of some 71 hours.
