To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what new financial initiatives he intends to introduce to attract new jobs to Wales.

Regional selective assistance continues to prove an effective instrument and remains the cornerstone of our efforts which have already succeeded in securing considerable inward investment and helped many Welsh businesses to expand. Initiatives such as the financial services initiative and IT Wales are kept under review to ensure that they achieve the maximum effect in their target sectors.
