To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will visit the Butterley brick works, Lane End, Buckley.

I have no plans to visit Butterley Brick's operation at Buckley at the present time.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people in each county in Wales are employed in brick making.

Brickmaking is not separately identified in employment estimates. In September 1989 there were 800 people employed in Wales in the manufacture of all structural clay products. Figures at a county level may not be published because to do so would breach the guidelines for protecting confidential data relating to a small number of businesses.
