Friend informed the House on 21 October that, 33W as part of the wider Government review into the coal industry, he would review the use of his consent powers under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989. Until the review of the use of his consent powers is completed, my right hon. Friend proposes to defer his decisions on outstanding applications for his consent under section 36 for new power stations.
