To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has received from the United Nations or from the United Nations Protection Force concerning violations of the no-fly zone in Bosnia; and when that information was received.

We have received from the United Nations, through the various sources available to that organisation, reports of the following numbers of unauthorised flights:

  • 24 from 22 October to 4 November;
  • 34 from 5 to 12 November;
  • 73 from 13 to 19 November.

There is no evidence that any of these have been combat flights.
