To ask the right hon. Member for Selby, as representing the Church Commissioners what is the percentage increase in the income of stipendaries' fees for baptismal certificates in the last five years.

Mr. Alison

The fee payable to the incumbent for a certificate of baptism has risen from £2.50 in 1987 to £4 in 1992, an increase of 60 per cent.
