HC Deb 26 November 1992 vol 214 c745W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will ensure that new arrangements which may be brought forward for the General Register and Record Office of Shipping and Seamen will include requirements which specifically protect the records of ships' movements and the records of sailors in world war I and world war II.

Mr. Norris

My right hon. Friend is aware that the records presently held are of historical interest. They will continue to be retained under Public Record Office (PRO) rules.
