To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answer of 3 November,Official Report, columns 105–6, what has been the cost to the Exchequer of the chief executive of the Hydrographic Office's visits to (a) Romania in June, (b) Russia in October 1992 and (c) Monaco in May.

Responsibility for the matter has been delegated to the Hydrographic Office under its chief executive Rear Admiral Myres. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given.

You recently asked the Secretary of State for Defence for the cost to the public purse of the Chief Executive of the Hydrographic Office's visits to (a) Romania in June, (b) Russia in October 1992, and (c) Monaco in May.
