Mr. Steinberg

To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will list teachers' salaries as a percentage of average non-manual earnings for each year since 1974.

Mr. Betts

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what was the level of expenditure in 1992–93 on tertiary and further education and those related services to be transferred from local authority responsibility in 1993 by each local authority; and what reduction in standard spending assessment for each local authority will occur in 1993–94 as a result of this transfer of responsibility.
