Mr. Milburn

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the number and percentage of standard rate and higher rate taxpayers in(a) each county, (b) each region and (c) the United Kingdom for the most recent year for which figures are available.

Estimates for 1989–90 are as shown in the table. Married couples are counted as one unit in this last year before independent taxation.
