Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will publish a table showing the numbers of men aged 65 years and over and women aged 60 years and over in each region for each year since 1987.

Dr. Mawhinney

The data available relate to those redundancies where a benefit is immediately payable under the National Health Service (Compensation for Premature Retirement) Regulations 1981. The table gives numbers by region and by reason for each of the financial years 1989–90, 1990–91, 1991–92.
