HC Deb 24 November 1992 vol 214 cc620-1W
Mr. Dafis

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish figures showing the total number of days where hourly ozone concentrations were classed as poor or very poor at each monitoring site in Wales in each year from 1985 onwards.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

Monitoring of ozone levels in Wales commenced in 1987. Information for 1987–90 is published in Table 3.24 in the "Welsh Office Digest of Environmental Statistics No. 6", a copy of which is available in the Library of the House. There were no days when concentrations were classed as poor—over 100 parts per billion—in 1991 and only two days in 1992, and at no time since 1987 have very poor levels—over 200 parts per billion—been recorded.
