HC Deb 23 November 1992 vol 214 c527W
28. Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about traffic flows on the Severn bridge since the last change in tolls.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

About 4¼ million vehicles have travelled westbound over the Severn bridge since 26 April when the concessionaires, Severn River Crossing plc, introduced a new one-way toll. This is about 6 per cent. less than the figure for the same period in 1991. No figures are available for eastbound, non-tolled, traffic.
