§ Mr. ForthInformation on the number of school trips and the number of pupils attending them is not collected centrally. The Government have, however, been monitor-ing the effects of the legislation on charging contained in the Education Reform Act 1988. A survey of schools undertaken by the National Foundation for Educational Research, published in 1991 showed that the law had riot led to any significant change in the number of school field trips.
