HL Deb 23 November 1992 vol 540 c53WA
Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether their refusal to comment on the use of reprocessed plutonium for weapons purposes (Viscount Cranborne, col. W.A. 113, 2nd November 1992) will not have the effect of increasing public anxiety and whether they will reconsider this answer.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Viscount Cranborne)

I do not believe my previous answer will cause increased public anxiety on this issue. The noble Lord will no doubt appreciate that there are security considerations which do not permit me to expand in any detail.
