§ Mr. McLoughlinThe Department has commissioned several studies on the general economic effects of the wages councils. They suggest that the abolition of wages councils should improve employment prospects in the wages council industries, where the majority of workers are women. However, the studies do not focus exclusively on the prospects for women.
