Submarine Reactor Cores

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the number and location of used nuclear submarine reactor cores held by his Department.

Currently some 37 nuclear submarine used reactor cores are stored at BNFL Sellafield. In addition, one nuclear submarine used reactor core is held at each of the following locations: Rosyth royal dockyard, Devonport royal dockyard, and the naval reactor test establishment Dounreay.
