§ Mr. MacleanMy Department does not keep such a register. We are considering the responses to our proposals for the compilation by local authorities of registers of land which may be contaminated. Authorities have a duty to investigate possible contamination where they consider that this may constitute a nuisance, and to ensure that action is taken where necessary.
