§ Mr. RedmondTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department which police authorities have substantially reduced the number of officers trained for riot duty; why such action was taken in each case; and if he will make it his policy that no officer will be required to undertake riot duties untrained and inadequately equipped.
§ Mr. Charles WardleTraining within individual police forces is a matter for the chief officer concerned. I understand that all officers engaged in policing public disorder are now trained to common minimum standards.
