HC Deb 18 November 1992 vol 214 c217W
Mr. Spearing

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what person or body he proposes to appoint to examine inspectors' reports on a school to determine whether any weaknesses in aspects of teaching are such as to cause him to require the governing body of that school to draw up an action plan under the proposals in the Education Bill.

Mr. Forth

The Education (Schools) Act 1992 requires all schools to draw up action plans following inspections under section 9 of that Act.

The proposals in the Education Bill relate to the particular circumstnaces where an inspection identifies a school as failing to give its pupils an acceptable standard of education.
