Responsibility for the subject of the question has been delegated to the three agencies in my Department. I have asked the chief executive of each of the agencies to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from S. Rosie to Mr. John McAllion, dated 12 November 1992: In the Director and Chief Executive's absence on business this week, I am responding to your recent parliamentary question and the Secretary of State's reply of 11 November. A copy of Historic Scotland's Health and Safety Policy has been placed in the House of Commons Library. A copy is enclosed for ease of reference. This policy statement, introduced in June 1991, is backed up by a series of Instruction and Information sheets, covering all aspects of health and safety applicable to the Agency. A high priority is attached to health and safety. Our full-time Safety Officer continually monitors performance and implements any changes needed to comply with legislative requirements.
