§ Mr. StrawTo ask the President of the Board of Trade whether prefabricated boxes made from steel mesh manufactured in Italy but in part assembled in the United Kingdom, and for the purpose of erosion protection for river banks and road embankments, are eligible for export credit guarantee finance, in respect of exports to African countries.
§ Mr. Needham[holding answer 16 November 1992]: Export credit guarantee finance is provided to facilitate the supply abroad of goods and services by United Kingdom businesses. Depending on the details of individual cases, within strict limits foreign goods and services may also be financed.
