To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many orders under section 1(8) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 have been introduced in each year since 1985.

The Ministry has laid the following orders before Parliament under Section 1(8) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985:

  • 1985: None
  • 1986: 5 (all relating to the Chernobyl accident)
  • 1987: 1
  • 1988: None
  • 1989: 11 (10 relating to the lead in animal feed incident)
  • 1990: 5
  • 1991: 3
  • 1992: 3
