HC Deb 16 November 1992 vol 214 cc91-2W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many child psychotherapists are in practice in Wales; what plans he has to increase this number; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

At 30 September 1992 there were three—whole-time equivalent 1.5—child psychotherapists employed within the national health service in Wales. Information about the number of child psychotherapists in practice outside the NHS is not collected centrally. The Department is also funding a child psychotherapist post in Clwyd health authority, from the mental illness strategy.
