HC Deb 13 November 1992 vol 213 c1005W
Mr. Ainger

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what were the ground speed and wind conditions used in the United Kingdom civil rescue helicopter coverage working group report 1986 to calculate the response times to incidents 40 nautical miles from a search-and-rescue base during daylight.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

The working group assumed still air conditions and air and ground speeds of 105 knots for a Sea King and S61 N helicopter and 90 knots for a Wessex helicopter.
