§ Mr. Sainsbury[holding answer 11 November 1992]: Launch aid is granted under section 1(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982.
The specific conditions attach to any launch aid grant vary from case to case and are contained in a contract negotiated between the Government and the recipient company. The terms of such contracts are confidential, but generally include conditions setting out the work programme and percentage of costs to be covered, the repayment terms and arrangements for monitoring the commercial and technical progress of the project.
