HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c829W
Mrs. Dunwoody

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what percentage of the labour force is skilled in(a) the United Kingdom, (b) France, (c) Germany, (d) Spain and (e) Portugal.

Mr. McLoughlin

The skills held by people in the labour force vary widely and are often a product of informal training and job experience rather than formal courses. It is not possible, therefore, to provide statistical measures which are comprehensive and comparable between countries.
