HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c822W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will publish a list of the dates, titles and venues of the seminars that his officials have attended on the subject of defence diversification over the last 24 months.

Mr. Aitken

Officials of my Department have not attended any seminars devoted to the subject of defence diversification. They have attended each of a series of six regional seminars organised by the Department of Trade and Industry earlier this year under the title "Changing Tack—New Perspectives for Defence Suppliers", which was designed to assist small and medium-sized companies supplying the defence market to assess the strategic issues to be faced in the light of current and projected reductions in global expenditure on defence equipment.

The dates and venues of these seminars were:

Venue
29 April Tring
12 May Blackburn
18 May Southampton
20 May Solihull
1 June Bristol
3 June London
