HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c848W
Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to her answer of 19 October,Official Report, column 87, what consultations will take place during her Department's review of NHS information with individuals and organisations outside her Department and the NHS management executive who make use of information currently collected by her Department.

Mr. Sackville

The current review of the Department of Health's requirements for information from the national health service included a study by management consultants of the uses made by the NHS of information collected on behalf of the Department and the burden it imposes. Proposals for reducing this burden are currently being drawn up by the Department. In considering these, I shall examine what wider consultation might be appropriate.
