HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c795W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assistance is currently granted by the Overseas Development Administration to assist the Government of Zimbabwe to deal with refugees from Mozambique.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Most of our aid for Mozambican refugees is channelled through the co-ordinating offices of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, from where it is allocated to relief programmes in refugee host countries, including Zimbabwe. We have made cash grants of £10.5 million in this form since 1989. We are also supporting British non-governmental organisations, including Help Age which is running a programme to address the urgent needs of elderly and disabled Mozambican refugees in Zimbabwe.
