HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c794W
Mr. Dafis

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much overseas aid has been given by the Overseas Development Administration to counter crop damage by swarms of locusts in Madagascar.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

We have committed £17,000 towards a field trial of insect growth regulators in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation. In addition, the ODA is currently putting together a package of items to address the specific short-term recommendations of the FAO's locust consultant: the value and extent of that package has yet to be finalised.
