Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many people were(a) killed and (b) seriously injured in local authority employment in each year since 1974.

Occupational injuries to workers' occurring in premises owned by, or arising from activities controlled by, local authorities, and reported to HSE's factory and agricultural inspectorates for years between 1988–89 and 1990–91 are provided in the following table. Prior to 1 April 1988 such injuries were not separately identified.
