To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received on the consequences for police operational efficiency of the ruling in the Guinness case requiring greater disclosure to defendants.

We have received no representations from members of the public, but the implications of this judgment have been discussed with the Crown prosecution service, the Association of Chief Police Officers and Her Majesty's inspectorate of constabulary.
