§ Mr. BrookeMy Department's main agency for distributing grant aid to sports bodies in England is the Sports Council who do not assist professional bodies. However, they gave £172,000 in assistance to the British Amateur Rugby League Association in 1991–92. The Foundation for Sport and the Arts has given over £750,000 in grant aid to Rugby League clubs since its establishment last year following a reduction in pool betting duty.
