HL Deb 09 November 1992 vol 540 c4WA
Lord Rippon of Hexham

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many of those responsible for negotiating an agreement about the future of 6–7 Old Palace Yard are at present accommodated there, or have secretaries accommodated there.

The Lord Privy Seal (Lord Wakeham)

The agreement to exchange 6–7 Old Palace Yard for the third floor of No 7 Millbank was negotiated by the relevant authorities in each House. None of those involved in the negotiations is at present accommodated in 6–7 Old Palace Yard nor, so far as can be ascertained, do they have secretaries accommodated there.

Lord Rippon of Hexham

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many former Prime Ministers are seeking accommodation in 6–7 Old Palace Yard.

Lord Wakeham

No decisions have yet been taken on who should occupy 6–7 Old Palace Yard. There will be accommodation for about 80 persons and these may include peers' secretaries and members of staff. I am not aware of any requests from former Prime Ministers for accommodation there.
