To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many civil servants are currently employed by all Departments and agencies at each of the grades from grade 7 upwards; and if he will make a statement.

The table shows the total number of non-industrial civil servants at each of the grades from grade 7 upwards, as employed by all Departments and agencies, at 1 April 1992.
