HC Deb 06 November 1992 vol 213 c455W
Mr. Battle

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many tenants' organisations and individual tenants have responded to the consultation paper, "Competing for Quality in Housing"; and how many of these were in favour of compulsory competitive tendering.

Mr. Baldry

A total of 104 tenants' organisations and six individual tenants have responded to the Government's consultation paper, "Competing for Quality in Housing". A wide range of views were expressed on various aspects of the Government's proposals, including a substantial body of opinion that competitive tendering would lead to an improvement in standards.
