To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will publish the discussion papers prepared for the development of the LINC projects, 1989–92, which received a grant from his Department.

Proposals for the development of the language in the curriculum—LINC—project were set out under category XXIX in the education support grant circular sent to all local education authorities in England in July 1988, a copy of which is available in the Library. This followed publication of the Kingman report in March 1988 which recommended that an in-service training scheme be undertaken to increase teachers' knowledge about language.
