Mr. Dafis

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of mortgage interest relief at source payments are currently made to households earning(a) over £50,000 per annum, (b) over £35,000 per annum, (c)under £20,000 per annum, (d) under £10,000 per annum and (e) under £5,000 per annum.

Provisional estimates for 1992–93 based on projected information from the 1990 family expenditure survey and the 1989–90 survey of personal incomes are in the table.
