§ Mr. MacleanThe Department is supporting studies at Lancaster university to determine the sensitivity in the United Kingdom of vegetation and of plant pathogenic micro-organisms to increased fluxes of ultraviolet-B radiation which may result from depletion of the376W stratospheric ozone layer. These studies will feed into the periodic reassessment of available scientific, environmental, technical and economic information required under article 6 of the Montreal protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer.
