To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he expects all of the directives relative to the European Single Act to be completed.

Mr. Needham

A total of 257 out of the 282 measures in the Commission's White Paper "Completing the Internal Market" have been agreed. The Single European Act will continue in force as a basis for legislation.
