To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if it is his policy that retirement pensions shall continue to be uprated annually in line with the retail prices index.

The plans for the uprating of benefits will be announced to the House in due course.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if it is his policy that retirement pensions shall continue to be free of a means test.
