HC Deb 04 November 1992 vol 213 c303W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has in regard to the number and source of comments submitted to the Health and Safety Commission in response to the HSC draft on proposed United Kingdom regulations developed pursuant to EC directive 89/618/EEC on public information and radiation emergencies.

Mr. McLoughlin

I have been asked to reply.

The Health and Safety Executive is in the process of producing a publication entitled "A Guide to the Public Information for Radiation Emergencies Regulations". The draft guidance was sent out to approximately 180 organisations and individuals inviting comments. There were some 36 replies received of which 13 said that they had no comments to offer. The majority of replies came from nuclear operators, local authorities or their associations, organisations representing emergency service personnel and Government Departments.
