HC Deb 04 November 1992 vol 213 c309W
Mrs. Anne Campbell

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what quantities of uranium and plutonium would be produced by reprocessing spent fuel from United Kingdom nuclear power stations under existing contracts with the thermal oxide reprocessing plant at Sellafield.

Mr. Eggar

Under its existing contracts for operating the thermal oxide reprocessing plant at Sellafield up to the year 2002, British Nuclear Fuels plc estimates that some 2,000 tonnes of uranium and some 8,000 tonnes of plutonium will arise from the reprocessing of spent fuel from nuclear power stations in the United Kingdom.
